Kiev imposes anti-dumping duties on 2 types of Russian fertilizers

KIEV, May 19 (PRIME) -- Ukraine has introduced anti-dumping duties of 31.84% on imports of carbamide and urea ammonium nitrate from Russia, Ukraine’s top supplier of nitrogen fertilizers, the Economic Development and Trade Ministry said in a statement on Friday.

The duties will come in force in a day after their publication in official gazette Uryadovy Kuryer, the ministry said.

Previously, Ukraine planned to introduce 4.19–31.83% anti-dumping duties on imports of all nitrogen fertilizers from Russia starting from February 28, but the Agriculture Ministry asked it to delay the decision until the sowing campaign has been over.

In 2014, Ukraine introduced 5-year 20.51–36.03% anti-dumping duties on Russian ammonia nitrate, and Russia is now challenging the decision within the World Trade Organization (WTO). After the ban, Ukrainian farmers started to use carbamide and urea ammonium nitrate exported by Russia.
